The University of Sussex Students’ Union is searching for an Executive Assistant to help develop effective governance and administration of the Students’ Union and provide administrative support as required.
We are the heart and home of the student community at the University of Sussex, and offer a space for every one of our members to make the most of their time at University.
Who do we want to join us?
We are at a huge point of change and we are looking for an exceptionally organised and friendly individual to help the senior leadership team and the elected student executive achieve our ambitious plans for the future.
We need someone who is willing to bring their organisational skills and expertise to take the organisation from good to great.
You will take on all aspects of governance and executive administration and so will need confidence in these areas to hit the ground running at a time of great organisational change. You’ll have a lot of scope to contribute your ideas and perspective whilst being flexible and incorporating others’ contributions.
Our expectations of this role are high because our ambitions are high, we want the very best and committed staff to help us get there. But we are more interested in you as a person than your skills.
We want Sussex to be a great place to work so that our staff are able to give the student community the best service possible. For this reason work life balance is extremely important to us so we have lots of great plans in place and support to make sure you are able to flourish in this role, including training and development and flexible work around your family or outside interests.

Our mission is to put students at the heart of everything we do, to be a Union our students are proud to be members of.
We are really committed to maintaining a diverse workforce because we know how important it is to have decision makers and collaborators with varied lived experiences and backgrounds that reflect the range of needs from our diverse student community.
