We are looking for a student with the skills to help develop, fix, and provide technical support for the Students’ Union website www.sussexstudent.com

In this role you will have the opportunity to work flexibly and develop your already existing coding skills in a supportive working environment whilst also gaining experience in running a website that caters to all our students.

You will enjoy this role if you have experience with coding, are a good communicator, have an interest in customer service and are proactive self-motivated worker.

The selection process will involve a task to build an accordion and we will provide a Mac computer with a text editor but if you’d like to use other software you’ll need to bring in your own device.


Job Title:  Web Developer

Responsible to: Union Marketing Manager

Salary: £11.37 per hour, (made up of £10.15 basic wage plus £1.22 holiday pay.) Pay is calculated this way because our students often have other work in vacation time. They tell us they prefer an enhanced hourly amount rather than separate holiday pay.

Contract: Fixed term ending 31st July 2019, with the possibility of extending into the Autumn Term.

Hours of work: 7.5-15 hours per week, between 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday. Hours are flexible around fixed academic commitments, but will more than likely include some evenings and weekend work during term time, with hours to be agreed with your line manager.
